E-publishing is the business of producing books, magazines, or newspapers that are designed to be read using a computer, a phone, or an e-reader. Writers and companies prepare files instead of — or as well as — paper copies, then sell or give them out online. It covers a big news site putting articles on a screen, a company selling e-books, and a person putting their own book into an online store. It is an industry word now, quite ordinary in that world. People still print, of course; e-publishing is the electronic side of putting writing out, not a magic replacement for every paper page.
