An e-book is a book you read on a screen — a phone, a tablet, a computer, or a small machine made just for reading — instead of on paper. The story and the words are the same kind of thing as a printed book; what changes is the body. You can often make the letters bigger, search for a word, or carry hundreds of titles in one bag. Some people use e-book only for the file, and call the machine an e-reader; other people use e-book loosely for both. It is an everyday word now, at home in shops and schools. It is not a book about electronics, and it is not the same as an , which you listen to.
e-book 是在螢幕上閱讀的書，螢幕可能是手機、平板、電腦，或是專門拿來看書的小機器，而不是紙本。故事和文字跟紙本書是同一類東西，改變的只是載體。這種書常可以把字放大、搜尋某個字，或一個包包就裝得下好幾百本。
有人只用這個詞指電子檔，把機器叫做電子閱讀器；也有人兩者都籠統地叫電子書。它現在是很日常的詞，在書店和學校都很常見。它不是講電子產品的書，也不同於你拿來聽的有聲書。
