Doz. is only a written shortcut for dozen — twelve of something. You see it on lists, bills, and old shop or catalogue notes: '6 doz. eggs' means seventy-two eggs. People almost never say 'doz' out loud; they say 'dozen.' Though actually, even in writing many people now just write 'dozen' or '12,' so doz. feels a little office-old or shop-old. The full stop is the usual British-style mark that this is an abbreviation, not a word of its own.
