    A dopehead is a rude, informal name for someone who takes a lot of illegal drugs. Dope here means drugs, and -head is an ending we stick on to mean “a person who is into that.” It is not a kind word, and it is not a doctor's word. You hear it in films, in rough talk, and as an insult. A careful speaker would say “someone who uses drugs” instead. It can sound as if you are laughing at the person, so it can hurt.

組成dope (“drugs”) + -head (a person who is known for that).
