A crackhead is a very informal, often name for a person who uses crack, a strong illegal form of cocaine that is smoked. The word points at the person through the drug, as if that is all they are. It belongs to street talk and rough films, not to a doctor's notes and not to polite conversation. People also stretch it: they call someone a crackhead just because that person is acting wild, messy, or stupid, even when no drug is involved. That stretch is common and ugly; it still hurts, and it is not the careful meaning. You should recognise the word so a film or a song does not confuse you, but it is a harsh label to put on a real person.
組成From crack (the drug) + -head (a person who is known for that thing). The drug sense of the compound appears around the late 1970s.
