1. 1

A dogsled is a long, low vehicle that slides over snow and ice, pulled by a team of dogs (often huskies) in harnesses. People in very cold places still use them to travel, carry goods, and race. British English often calls the vehicle a sledge; American English says sled; dogsled (also written dog sled) is the usual name for this kind, with dogs. You can also use it as a verb: to dogsled is to travel that way. It is not a sled shaped like a dog, and it is not a — that one has a motor and no dogs.
