Divinity means the quality of being sacred and — completely above ordinary human power, holy in a very deep way. People who believe in a religion often say a certain figure has divinity, meaning they are not just a wise or good person, but something more — actually a god, or god-like. "Divinity" is also the formal name of the academic subject that studies religion, God, and religious belief at university — you might hear of someone earning a "Doctor of Divinity," an advanced religious degree.
