    A discounter is a shop that sells goods as its normal way of doing business — or, less often, a person who sells that way. The point is not one lucky sale. The prices are regularly lower than in ordinary shops. Newspapers and business people use it: a food discounter, a clothes discounter. Though actually, in everyday talk will hear discount store or cheap shop much more often. Discounter is a slightly technical word for the same idea. It can name a whole chain, not one person standing at a till.
