1. 1

A Digibox is a small electronic box that people in Britain put on the television so it can show digital programmes. Before the switch to digital TV, the old analogue signal came straight into the set; many homes then needed an extra box to decode the new one. In everyday British talk it often meant the Sky box sitting on top of the telly, though people used it for similar set-top boxes too. It is informal, British, and already a little dated — newer TVs have the tuner built in, and a lot of people just stream. In American English you would more likely hear set-top box or cable box. You would not normally say Digibox in Taiwan.

    機上盒(英國口語;台灣日常就說「機上盒」)
