Depravity is the noun for that same rotten moral state: a way of living, or a set of acts, that shows no care for what is right — often cruelty, violence, or using people badly. It is a formal, serious word. You meet it in news, court reports, history, and moral arguments more than in chat. People often say “moral depravity” as if to that they mean the heart of the person, not one bad day. Though actually, writers sometimes pile it on for shock; one ugly crime is not automatically a whole life of depravity. It names the condition; depraved is the word that describes the person or the act.
組成The noun from depraved: the -ity ending turns the describing word into the name of the state.
