To denationalize a business is to sell it so the government no longer owns it and private owners do. Countries denationalize banks, airlines, phone companies, and power plants. It is a formal verb you meet in news and economics. In many English-speaking places people more often say privatize for the same kind of sale. The opposite is : the state takes the business.
