Cyclic means happening in cycles: coming back again and again in the same order, like a wheel turning. Seasons are cyclic. Some pain, some business, some history is called cyclic too. Scientists also use cyclic for things shaped like a ring — in chemistry, a cyclic molecule has atoms joined in a closed loop, not a straight line. That is a school-science sense, but a true one. Though actually, newspapers often write cyclical for weather, fashion, and money. Cyclic and cyclical sit very close, and many people treat them as twins; science still likes cyclic for the ring and the strict repeat. As a noun, cyclic is rare and mostly for specialists. The word you will meet is almost always the adjective.

組成From French cyclique, or from Latin cyclicus, from Ancient Greek kuklikós. On the surface, cycle + -ic. It is also, in a patchy way, a doublet of the rare word chakric — they match in pieces, not as whole everyday words.
