A cyberstalker is a person who uses the internet, email, or other electronic messages to follow someone or threaten them in a way that is against the law. The following is not a friendly “follow” on social media. It is repeated watching, contacting, or scaring that makes the other person feel hunted. News, police, and safety talks use the word; it is heavy and not a joke. The activity itself is cyberstalking. Though actually, one rude comment is usually not this; the word is for a pattern that will not stop, often across accounts and platforms.
