You can also use it as a noun: a curative, meaning a medicine aimed at healing, not only at easing pain. Though actually the adjective sounds tidier than life: many things called curative only help a little, or only one kind of sickness. It is a serious, slightly formal word. You would not call a nap curative unless you were being gentle and a bit poetic.
