When one company helps another company sell its things. They might put the second company’s ads next to their own, show its products in their shop, or mention it in the same TV spot. The two names on the poster are not the same firm — that is the whole idea: we help them sell, and they often help us too. You hear this in offices, marketing, and shops that share space, not at the dinner table. Though actually, many business people also say “cross-selling” when the SAME company tries to sell you a second thing after you already bought the first — a bank sells you a card, then tries to sell you insurance. That is a different use. The meaning here is the partner one: Company A helping Company B.
cross-selling 指一家公司幫另一家公司賣東西。做法可能是把對方的廣告擺在自己旁邊，在店裡展示對方的產品，或在同一支電視廣告裡提到對方。海報上的兩個名字是不同公司，這正是重點：我幫你賣，你也常常幫我賣。這個說法常在辦公室、行銷，以及共用空間的店家裡聽到。
另一種用法是同一家公司再推銷另一項商品，例如銀行先賣你信用卡，再推保險。這裡講的是前者，也就是 A 公司幫 B 公司賣東西的合作夥伴關係。
