A cranberry is a small, round, dark-red fruit that tastes sharply sour if you eat it raw. It grows on low bushes in wet, ground, especially in North America. People almost always cook it with a lot of sugar: cranberry sauce with turkey (a classic at American Thanksgiving), cranberry juice, or dried cranberries in cereal and baking. The colour is a deep red, and people sometimes use cranberry for that colour too. In Taiwan you will meet it most often as juice or as dried fruit in snacks.
