Corpora is a plural of corpus. One corpus, two or more corpora. A corpus is a collection of writings or recorded speech, often stored on a computer so people can study how language is really used; people who study language say this word all the time. Corpus can also mean a body of work, or in science a body. You may also hear corpuses, but corpora is the usual academic plural. It looks like a new word, but it is just more than one corpus — the same kind of Latin plural you meet in words like genus / genera.
corpus 的複數(語言學裡 corpus 是「語料庫」,複數多用 corpora)
組成Latin plural of corpus (“body”). English also allows corpuses, but corpora is the usual scholarly form.
