A cool-headed person does not get or upset easily. When trouble comes, they stay calm and think. We also say a cool-headed decision or a cool-headed response: the act is steady, not wild. It is a compliment. The opposite idea is hot-headed — quick to get angry. Though actually, cool here is about feelings, not temperature. Someone can have warm manners and still be cool-headed. Cold is a different word: cold can sound or distant. Cool-headed means calm and sensible, and people like that in a leader, a doctor, or a friend in a crisis.
cool-headed 指的是遇到事情不容易激動或慌張，會保持冷靜、先想一想的人。也可以用來形容決定或反應，像「a cool-headed decision」（冷靜的決定）、「a cool-headed response」（冷靜的回應），表示行動穩定、不衝動。這是稱讚，相反的是容易生氣、衝動的人。
