Connexion is a British spelling of connection. It means the same things: a joining, a relationship, a train or bus link, and so on. It is not a different word with a different job.
Though actually, even in Britain this spelling now feels old. Connection has almost completely won in everyday writing. You still see connexion in older British books, in some very formal or traditional writing, and in a few set names — the Methodist Church still talks about “the Connexion.” American English did not take this spelling up; school English in Taiwan almost always wants connection.
If you meet it, read it as connection and move on. You rarely need to write it.
組成From Middle English connexioun, from Latin connexiō, “a binding together,” from the verb connectō. Same history as connection; only the English spelling later split.
