1. 1

Shaped like a cone: wide and round at one end, coming to a point at the other. It is a calm, slightly technical word — maths, science, and careful description use it more than chat. A mountain, a roof, a party hat, or a pile of salt can be conical. In school chemistry you will meet a conical flask: a glass bottle with a wide body and a narrower neck. Though actually that flask is not a perfect cone (it is the Erlenmeyer flask); labs still call it conical because of the shape. In everyday talk, cone-shaped says the same thing with simpler parts.
