Something conceivable is something you can believe or picture in your mind. If it is conceivable, it is possible to imagine it, even if it has not happened. We often use every conceivable… to mean every kind you can think of: every conceivable excuse, every conceivable problem. We also say it is conceivable that… when we mean it could be true; I can imagine it. Though actually, people often put a hedge in front of it: hardly conceivable, barely conceivable, scarcely conceivable — those mean it is almost too strange to believe, but not quite impossible. The strong opposite is : you cannot even picture it. Conceivable is a fairly careful, written word; in easy talk you might just say possible or you can imagine it.
