1. 1

A collarless jacket, shirt, or dress is made with no collar — no band standing up around the neck. A T-shirt neck or a jacket that simply opens at the throat can be collarless. You see the word on clothes labels and in fashion writing; it is a calm describing word, not slang. Though actually, a short stand-up “Mandarin” band is still a collar, so that is not truly collarless. People sometimes stretch the word for anything that looks simple at the neck.
