- 1代號
A name used so that someone’s or something’s real name stays secret. Spies, police, army plans, and new products all use them. It might be a single odd word, or something like “Operation…” The point is hiding identity on purpose, not making a cute nickname for friends. You will see it written code-name, code name, or codename — all three appear. Though actually, once the secret is out, people often keep the code-name anyway, because that is the name that became famous. It can name a person, a plan, or a thing still being built.
code-name 就是代號，用來讓某個人或某件事的真實名稱保持祕密。間諜、警方、軍隊的計畫和新產品都會用到它。它可能是一個古怪的單字，也可能像「Operation…」這種形式。重點是刻意隱藏身分，而不是替朋友取一個可愛的暱稱。
寫法有 code-name、code name、codename 三種，都看得到。祕密公開之後，這個代號常常還是會留下來，因為它本身已經很有名。它可以指一個人、一項計畫，或是還在製作中的東西。
