A clairvoyant is someone who says they can see what other people cannot — the future, a lost object, a stranger's secret. People also use it as an adjective: clairvoyant powers, a clairvoyant dream. It is not a licensed job, and it is not the same as being wise or good at reading clues. Some speakers say it with respect in fortune-telling circles; others say it with a raised , because it reports a claim rather than a proven skill.
