Lists sometimes make this sound like a person, but clairvoyance is the supposed power, not the someone. It is the claim that a person can “see clearly” what is hidden: a thing far away, something inside a closed room, or what has not happened yet. There is no accepted scientific proof of it, so careful speakers treat it as a claim people make, or as a story, not as a school fact. English borrowed the word from French. The person who says they have this power is a clairvoyant; students often swap the two.
