Christendom means all the Christian people, or all the countries thought of as Christian, taken as one big group. It is an old, high, history-book word. Writers used it for “the Christian world,” especially in the Middle Ages and after, when they set that world beside lands that were not Christian. Today you still meet it in history, church writing, and rather grand speech. You do not use it for your local church, or for one country on a map. Though actually, it never meant “every person on earth is Christian.” It meant the Christian part of the world as people then pictured it. It is not the same as Christianity, which is the religion itself.
