Childminding is the work of looking after young children for pay, usually while the parents are at work. It is the job; a is the person who does it. In British English you can say she does childminding, or childminding from home. Americans would more often say or daycare. Though actually, people sometimes mix the two words and talk as if childminding were a person. Keep the -ing for the activity, and for the human being.
