Carrousel is an American spelling of carousel. A carousel is the ride with painted horses that go round and round to music. The same word is used at airports for the moving belt where bags come out, and in shops for a turning stand that holds cards or jewellery. Though actually, even in the United States most people now write carousel, with one r. The two-r spelling looks a little older and a little more French. Same word, same meanings; only the letters change.
