    Canst means you can, but only in old English, and only when you are talking to one person with the old word thou. Thou canst = you can. You will meet it in Shakespeare, in the King James Bible, in hymns, and in fantasy that copies old speech. In normal life nobody says it, except as a joke or on a stage. The little ending -st is the old mark for you (one person): thou canst, thou hast, thou dost. If you are speaking to people today, just say you can.
