A cameraphone is a mobile phone that can take photographs. The word was useful in the early 2000s, when some phones had cameras and many still did not. Today almost every phone has a camera, so people usually just say phone or smartphone. You will still meet cameraphone in older writing, in old adverts, and sometimes when someone wants to stress “I took this on my phone, not a real camera.” The thing is ordinary now; the word itself feels a little dated, like a name from the time when the camera inside the phone was still news.
