Think of a wall calendar and one whole page on it. You are not counting off thirty days on your fingers; you are taking the block the calendar has already drawn, from its first day to its last. The block is not always the same size — February is short, July is long — and that uneven block is the point of the word.
可以想成日曆上完整的一格。不是自己用手指數三十天，而是直接把日曆已經畫好的那一塊整個拿走，從第一天到最後一天。這一塊大小還不一定：二月短、七月長。這個「照日曆整塊算、而且長短不固定」的感覺，就是 calendar 這個字加上去的原因。
