A Burqini is swimwear made so a woman can go in the water with her body covered. It is usually a long-sleeved top and full-length bottoms in swimming cloth, plus a hood that covers the hair. The face is left open — that is the big difference from a , which hides the face behind a screen. The name is a blend of and bikini, which is a little joke in the word itself, because a bikini shows a lot of skin and a Burqini does the opposite. It began as a brand name (often written with a capital B), and you will also see the spelling burkini. It is a modern, slightly news-y word: some beaches have tried to ban it; other people wear similar modest who are not Muslim at all. In everyday English it names that full-cover , not a you swim in.
布基尼(全身泳裝;臉露出來)。原是品牌名,也有人寫 burkini。
