Brusquely is how you do something in a brusque way: with few words, short and sharp, so it can feel rude. He nodded brusquely. She replied brusquely and closed the door. Same idea as brusque, but it tells you about the action, not the person as a whole. It is a little formal, like the adjective. Though actually, you speak brusquely or answer brusquely; you do not “have brusquely,” and you do not put it in front of a person-word (not “a brusquely man”).
