Bovril is a British brand: a thick, very dark-brown paste made from beef. You stir a little into hot water to make a savoury drink, or you cook with it, the way some people use stock. It tastes salty, meaty, and strong — a goes a long way. It is a household name in the UK, the sort of jar that lives at the back of a ; in many other countries people have never heard of it. It is a trade name, so it is written with a capital B. Do not mix it up with Marmite: Marmite is made from yeast, not from beef, and the two only look alike in the jar.
Bovril（英國牛肉精／牛肉膏品牌）
組成A blend of bovine (“about cows”) and Vril (a made-up power in an old novel). The company wanted a name that said “beef” and also sounded like a kind of strength.
