Boggy ground is wet, soft, and muddy. A bog is land so full of water that your foot sinks, and boggy just means “like that.” After heavy rain a field can be boggy; a path by a river can be boggy. It is a plain describing word — not technical, not slang. Keep it for ground, soil, a pitch, a garden. It does not mean “boring,” and it does not describe a person.
