Blusher is the cream or powder you put on your cheeks to make them look a little red or pink, as if the blood had come to the skin. People use it in makeup so the face looks warmer and more awake. In American shops you will often see the same thing sold as blush; blusher is the form many British learner dictionaries prefer. It can be a compact of powder, a stick, or a cream; you tap or sweep it on the apples of the cheeks and blend. Everyday, slightly beauty-counter English — not a scientific word.
