Blindingly means “very” or “extremely,” but it does not sit in front of just any word. English speakers almost always pair it with obvious: if something is blindingly obvious, it is so clear that you would have to try not to see it. You will also hear blindingly bright, where the feeling of real light is still close, and sometimes blindingly fast. Other pairings can sound odd, so it is safer to copy the usual ones. It is lively rather than stiff — fine in talk and in colourful writing, a little strong for a very formal exam answer. Though actually, the word is only blinding plus -ly, so the picture underneath is “in a way that blinds you”: so strong it knocks the sight out of you. That picture is still alive in “blindingly bright,” and only a step away in “blindingly obvious.”
