A biped is an animal that walks on two legs. Humans are bipeds. Birds that walk on two legs are bipeds too, even though they also have wings. Some dinosaurs stood on two legs; they were bipeds as well. The word lives in science and textbooks more than in chat — a museum guide might say it; a child would just say “it has two legs.” Animals with four feet are quadrupeds. It names the body plan, not how clever or “human-like” the animal is.
