Bindweed is a wild climbing plant that often treat as an enemy. It is a weed: a plant growing where people do not want it. The bind half is the point — its thin stems wind around other plants, fences, and posts, and they can pull or smother what they climb. The flowers look a little like small morning glories: often white or pink, a trumpet shape. Under the ground it keeps long roots, so if you pull the top, a piece of root can stay and grow again. It is not a scientific name; split the plants into groups, but ordinary speakers just say bindweed when something is strangling the beans. It is not food, and it is not a houseplant people buy on purpose. Stick to plants: calling a person bindweed is not a set meaning.
