Banging, in slang, means very good. A banging song is one that hits hard and makes you want to move. A banging night is an excellent night. Young speakers, especially in Britain, have used it this way about music and parties. It is street talk, not essay talk. Of course, banging is also the ordinary word for hitting again and again and making a loud noise — someone is banging on the door. Your ear has to choose. People also stretch the slang to mean "very attractive," but the meaning filed here is the simple one: very good. If you are not sure your listener uses slang, say great instead.
