- 1守舊的、開倒車的（貶義，覺得不該再抱著舊方法）
When you call a person, a plan, or a country backward-looking, you are saying they keep using old methods and old ideas instead of newer ones — and you do not like that. It is not a warm word for “this has a long history.” It is a : stuck in the past, unwilling to change. You hear it in news, in , and in fights about schools, technology, or how a company is run. It feels a little formal, and it almost always sits in front of a noun: a backward-looking policy, a backward-looking attitude. Though actually, the same old way can be called “traditional” if the speaker is proud of it; backward-looking is the twin of that. People do not usually turn it into a verb.
