Augmentation is the noun that belongs with : it is the act of increasing something, or the extra amount you add. A pay augmentation is a rise. In medicine, breast augmentation is surgery that makes the breasts larger — that is the use many adults will have heard. In music, augmentation means stretching a tune by making each note last longer. It is a formal, somewhat heavy word; in daily talk people usually say increase, addition, or enlargement, unless they are in one of those special fields.
