You will hear it in hospitals, and also in food factories: some milk or juice sits in an aseptic so it can last on a shelf. It is a formal, scientific word; nobody uses it about a messy kitchen. Though actually people keep mixing it up with antiseptic. Antiseptic is a liquid or cream that kills . Aseptic means the are not there. One is a cleaner; the other is a clean state.
