An Anglican is a Christian in the Church of England, or in a sister church of the same family. In the United States that family is often called Episcopal; in Taiwan it is 聖公會.

The Church of England broke from the Pope in Rome in the 1500s, in Henry VIII's time, but it kept bishops and a lot of older church shape, so it can look quite Catholic in one parish and quite plain-Protestant in the next.
