Albino is used of a person or animal whose body makes little or no colouring. Skin and hair can look very pale or white; eyes may look pink or unusually light. You can use it as an adjective (albino mice, an albino deer) or as a noun (an albino). The condition itself is called albinism. Though actually, with people the bare noun can feel blunt, like a label stuck on someone. Many now prefer a person with albinism, because albino has been used carelessly and even as a taunt. With animals, albino is still the ordinary word. It is a descriptive, slightly clinical word — not a joke, not a compliment, and not a type of personality.
