Agflation is a newspaper blend-word for a general rise in the price of food — rice, vegetables, meat and so on all getting more expensive together. It joins agricultural (to do with farming) and inflation (prices rising), on the same pattern as stagflation. You will meet it in business and news writing, not at the night market. A shopper would just say food is getting so expensive. Though actually, it points at farm and food prices in particular, not at every price in the shops. If petrol and phones go up but cabbages do not, that is not what this word is for.
