1. 1

If you do or say something advisedly, you do it after careful thought. You chose it on purpose, and you mean it. Writers love the set phrase “I use the word X advisedly” — a polite way of saying this strong word is not an accident. The adverb is formal and a little old-fashioned; you meet it in speeches and essays, not in texts. Though actually the shape of the word tricks people: it looks as if it should mean “because someone advised me,” and it does not. That would be “as advised” or “on advice.” And it is not adversely, which means in a harmful way. In everyday talk you would just say “I mean that” or “I chose that word carefully.”
