The adverb twin of . You look admiringly, speak admiringly, smile admiringly: the -ly tells you how the action is done. Same feeling as the adjective — you clearly think the person or thing is impressive or attractive. Everyday English. It does not mean “in an way” (that would be about the thing being good); it means “in a way that shows admiration.”
