    Accumulatively means “in a way that builds up over time” — not all at once, but by adding a bit, then a bit more. You might say a poison works accumulatively, or that costs rose accumulatively over ten years. Like accumulative, it is formal and not the word most people reach for. Gradually, over time, or cumulatively will sound more natural in almost every student sentence.
