Acclimatization is the process of getting used to a new place, a new kind of weather, or a new situation — or of helping someone else get used to it. talk about acclimatization when they spend days higher and higher in the mountains so the body can cope with thin air. A new student goes through acclimatization too, though people more often say settling in. Though actually, this noun is about change over time, not a single moment of “I like it now.” In American English you will also meet acclimation, a shorter cousin. The related verb is (or, in the US, often acclimate).
